Panax ginseng: The Universal Panacea

One of the sacred chalices of alchemy was the search for the Panacea, a kind of universal remedy that would cure all ills. Today we know that diseases have many different causes and therefore there would hardly be a supreme remedy like this. However, it has also been discovered that a healthy mind and a balanced body are essential factors for maintaining health and that many diseases have psycho-somatic causes. Knowing this ancient Chinese medicine has as one of its fundamental herbs the so-called Panax ginsen, whose root resembles the shape of a homunculus, curiously very similar to some alchemical descriptions of the universal remedy.

But the physical appearance with the medieval accounts is the least of the reasons for its consumption. Ginseng is considered by the Chinese to be millennia as a kind of fountain of youth. For hundreds of generations it has been used to combat the symptoms of aging, fight fatigue and increase vitality and endurance. It is used especially for recovery or prevention of the evils caused by a great physical and mental effort extraordinary and improves the memory and the reasoning.

Current studies have shown that Panax ginseng actually has a positive effect on the immune system and provides improvements in blood circulation, resulting in a general improvement in health and an accelerated recovery in diseases. 

Its cultivation is time consuming and the root only reaches the point suitable for harvest after six years of care, fortunately today it is widely marketed and easily acquired.

Magic Usage of Panax Ginseng

Today we can dispense with the alchemical laboratory, since the careful work of cultivating the root is on behalf of the commercial producers. There are no great secrets about the preparation of the Universal Panacea after that. 

Mix three grams of Panax ginseng powder in mineral water and boil for 10 minutes. Pour the liquid into a paper filter before drinking.
