Damiana: The Potion of Love

How to make a potion of love with damiana.

Scientific name: Turnera diffusa

Damiana is a shrub native to Central America with a known aphrodisiac effect. The use of damiana leaves as a sexual stimulant dates back to pre-Columbian America. The Aztecs had it as a remedy against impotence, and the Mayans used it to increase their pleasure. Today Mexican women consume it as tea an hour or two before the sexual act. It is believed to have an enhancing effect on orgasms.

Magical Usage of Damiana

Damiana can be used as a sacrament to stimulate and tone one's sexuality. Their preparations are therefore also excellent as a support for any ritual of lust or sexual magic. This love potion can be consumed as tea for a moderate effect or as a liquor for more intense results:

Damiana tea: Two spoons full of dried damiana leaves and boil them in a cup of water for five minutes. Let cool and drink at dusk. The continued use of the tea for two weeks makes the result more intense.

Damiana liqueur: Dip 50 grams of damiana into half a liter of vodka leaving it to soak for five days. Pour the liquid into a paper filter by squeezing the sheets. Soak the sheets drained by the alcohol in 125 mls of mineral water for another five days. Repeat the process of tightening and filtering. Heat the bagasse to the point before boiling, and dissolve 150 ml of honey (half a cup) in the water. Mix the alcohol and water in a bottle and let stand for 1 month. During the aging process a sediment must form at the bottom of the bottle and the liquid becomes lighter. The sediment is harmless, but also useless, so carefully pour the liquid into a clean bottle. Drink one or two glasses at dusk.

Caution: Prolonged use may harm the liver.
